Atina Rabou (b. 1985 in Aachen, shortly after her family migrated from Iran) is a contemporary artist currently based in Cologne. She discovered her voice in abstract expressionism around 2019. Her artistic journey has been deeply personal, shaped by her self-taught exploration and continuous refinement of her practice. Today, Atina works as a full-time artist, creating works that invite us into the realm of the unconscious.

Inspired by the techniques of Tachism and lyrical abstraction, Atina’s paintings capture a sense of introspection and movement. Her non-representational core signature works unfold like a dance, where powerful gestures—defined by the pace and rhythm of her process—seamlessly merge into energy charged compositions. The canvas becomes an action space where brushstrokes, lines, and color spots converge or fracture, allowing fields of energy to emerge.
